0 A.D. is a historical real-time strategy game from Wildfire Games, a community of volunteers. You lead a civilization from antiquity, gather food, wood, stone and metal, grow a town, research technologies and march armies against rivals.
Battles reward formation, terrain and unit counters rather than clicking speed. You can play skirmishes against the computer, follow the campaign, or take on other people online. It also ships a scenario editor, so maps and mods are easy to make and share.
The game is free software: the code is open under the GPL and the art and sound are open as well. There are no ads, no accounts and no paid extras inside the game. It is still in active development, so expect new releases that add civilizations and polish.
