Xonotic is a fast free arena shooter in the Quake tradition. Movement matters as much as aim: strafe jumping, rocket jumps and pickups all give the skilled player an edge, and matches run at a high pace.
You get a wide set of weapons, many maps and game modes including deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and more. You can play against bots to learn, or join online servers any time of day. Settings are deep, so you can tune controls and graphics to your hardware.
It is open source under the GPL, grew out of the Nexuiz codebase, and has no ads, accounts or purchases. A mouse is strongly recommended.
